AIDS in Africa?? (8)

AIDS in Africa!!
How I wish that Carl was in some divine way right, how many African
would wish the same if only they had access to this gospel of hope
that Carl brings to refreshen the dark continent.
Unfortunately, based on my personal experience and living in Africa
where almost all the people that have been known to be HIV positive
notwithstanding diagnostic methods available are either dead or dy-
ing. So what are we saying? These people are dying due something else
but HIV/AIDS!
Aren't we reading the figures on deaths of Africans are portioned to
AIDS by the World Health Organization? Or are we not willing to be-
lieve them. What convincing evidence do we need away from real death.
In some African countries right now people are dying like flies and
the only theory required is that which explains from what they are
dying, if their dying itself is not a convincing evidence.
Carl's theory was my tentative hope in the mid 1980's but not now. At
that time Carl, I would have supported you whole-heartedly, but since
then the reality has come and sank.
But you may be right that the African AIDS may be spread in more ways
than heterosexuality. I think blood transfusion may even account the
greater proportion of HIV in many of these countries.
"The only other alternative to this ludicrous scenario is to agree
with African physicians that positive HIV antibody tests in Africa do
NOT mean infection with HIV and that immunosuppression and certain
symptoms and diseases which constitute African AIDS have existed in
Africa since time immemorial. According to Professor P.A.K. Addy,
Head of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Science and Tech-
nology in Kumasi, Ghana:...". If one agrees with this statement quoted
above from Prof. Addy, to what does he attribute the increased mor-
bidity and mortality in Africa today?
Excuse me for my ignorance but prior to this session I thought I was
a good Epidemiologist.
