Developments at the Health Systems Trust

The Health Systems Trust, a South African based NGO working in health
systems development since 1992, has grown and developed a lot over this
time. Recently some information was posted concerning the consolidation
of the strategic direction of the HST, namely work focusing on district
development, equity and forward planning for health care.

'eUpdate', the electronic version of the popular HST monthly newsletter
'Update', provides the main channel for informing you of new resources,
publications, and news. In addition, each edition provides an in-depth
focus on an area of health systems development.
Two key items of interest at present are the acquisition of additional
funding to support district development, and the relocation of the HST
offices:

Good news for District Development: ISDS (HST) get EU tender.
The ISDS programme of the Health Systems Trust has been awarded the
European Union tender for District Development by the Department of
Health. This will enable the ISDS to develop and strengthen its work in
support of effective district development.

HST is moving.
The Health Systems Trust has finally outgrown the Durban office. We are
moving to more spacious offices on Friday October 30th. Please note
that because of this move the Durban office will be closed all day on
Friday October 30th.
There may also be some disruption to telephone, web and e-mail services
in the few days before and after the 30th. We will do our best to keep
disruption to a minimum, but ask for your understanding should any dif-
ficulties arise.
