Drugs in sub Saharan Africa
---------------------------
Am very happy to join this mailing list. Good health care needs
to have access to drugs always. Most people living with HIV are
poor in Africa, they can't afford buying. I am a student (master
student in community health) and would like to study drug poli-
cies in developing countries. I think sometimes drugs are wasted
and others become resistant because of weak policies. I need
AFRO-NETS help for funding this research.

Dear Norman,
Having read your request, I couldn't help making the following
comments: Do I take it this is your way of applying for funding?
Seeing as you are a student, I suggest you get help from your
Supervisors on how to do that. You have made a few sweeping
statements which is not saying anything at all. Studying drug
policies is good. I hope you are aware of the bearing Interna-
tional Drug policies have on the rest of the regional policies
and the effect of Macro Multinational Drug Companies on these
policies!! Everybody knows what needs to be done, maybe the
problem lies with the politics of each region and country, weak
policies or corruption and compromise???
Good luck in your studies and hopefully you get to implement
your findings and recommendations!!! Just maybe someone has al-
ready done the research but not implemented the research find-
ings? As part of your proposal do a literature search and see
what's been happening where, and maybe discover where we have
missed it as a continent!! Who knows you might even change your
research topic! Don't try to reinvent the wheel.
It would be interesting to know which country you are hailing
from?
