Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving
lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly
diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for
the following positions:

Technical Advisor, Strategic Behavior Communication (Arlington, VA)

To provide technical leadership by designing and developing
global-level Strategic Behavior Communication (SBC) strategies
and tools for the Institute for HIV/AIDS, focusing on innovative
behavior change approaches to reinforce prevention, care and
treatment and impact mitigation. Main responsibilities: Provide
technical leadership across the institute in the development,
implementation and evaluation of innovative communication
strategies based on the global framework; Supervises and pro-
vides strategic technical direction to communication officers
and others involved in communication activities at HQ and in
country offices; Provides SBC technical input including standard
setting and monitoring guidelines to implementing agencies; Re-
mains on top of current communications issues in the
HIV/AIDS/STI field; Participates in resource development;
Liaises closely with IP for the documentation and dissemination
of Promising/Best Practices; Performs other duties as assigned

Ph. D or MA and equivalent in Behavioral Sciences or Public
Health; Minimum of seven years experience in the innovative de-
sign of behavior communication programs with two years relevant
management experience. Fluency in French and/or Spanish is pre-
ferred.

Technical Advisor, Clinical and Community Care (Arlington, VA)

Provide technical leadership by designing and developing global-
level innovative technical strategies and tools in HIV/AIDS
Clinical and Community Care for the Institute of HIV/AIDS. Main
responsibilities include: Oversees and helps to ensure the qual-
ity of implemented HIV/AIDS clinical and community care activi-
ties of the Care and Treatment Division; Stimulates and acts as
a resource for the development of innovative and expanded re-
sponses in clinical and community care for HIV, in particular,
in areas such as HIV clinical management including preventive
therapies, TB (tuberculosis)/HIV relationships, care for mothers
and infants, the introduction of safe and effective use of ARVs
(antiretroviral treatments), and palliative care; Provides stra-
tegic development, technical inputs, and technical assistance on
clinical and community care activities at all levels, including
the monitoring and evaluation of such activities; Provides over-
all technical leadership in clinical and community care in coor-
dination with relevant officers in regional and country offices;
Participates in proposal preparation and other resource develop-
ment activities; Remains informed on current programs in the
HIV/AIDS field by review of current literature and is alert to
any implications of such experiences and research for department
activities; Performs other duties as assigned by the Director,
Care and Treatment Division.

MD degree with at least seven years experience in the field of
HIV/AIDS clinical care. MPH degree preferred. Overseas field ex-
perience required. Fluency in French or Spanish desirable.

Web Content Manager (Arlington, VA)

Coordinate the flow of HIV/AIDS content from writers, editors,
and researchers to final web-posting for the Institute. This is
not a web-design position. Main responsibilities include: Guide
content writers, editors, researchers and other staff to address
the assigned Institute/Department web needs using an existing
Content Manager Server-based system; Coordinate the content flow
process (from author to live posting) to facilitate dissemina-
tion of news; Guide staff in developing various department-
driven SharePoint Team Sites; Liaise with organizational web
committees for collaboration and application of established
practices; and Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, interactive media, web design
or related publications field and five to seven years relevant
experience, including three years in web settings. French lan-
guage skills an asset. Experience in AIDS or international af-
fairs a plus.

Research Associate II (Bangkok, Thailand)

Works closely with senior research staff to develop, implement,
monitor, manage and/or analyze complex and other research stud-
ies; designs research management systems. Main responsibilities
include: design and manage one or more group or division-wide
systems for carrying out research management and support activi-
ties; represent FHI at developing country project sites, regula-
tory meetings, donor meetings and professional meetings as
needed; supervise and provide technical assistance to Research
Managers I's, Research Assistants, interns, in-country col-
leagues and others as needed; report and track key indicators
for evaluation of performance &/or data quality; ensure compli-
ance of assigned studies; and Perform other related duties as
assigned.

MS/MA/MPH and 5-7 years relevant experience and professional
level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and appli-
cation; or BS/BA in public health or related field and 8-10
years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge
and expertise in research methods and application.
