Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving
lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly
diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

1. Senior Program Officer, Programs Operation Support (Arling-
ton, VA)

The position of the Senior Program Officer provides leadership
and support in the areas of: Workplan and budget development
systems implementation; Progress documentation and reporting;
Project tracking to ensure that contractual deliverables are
met; Developing policies and guidance for programmatic and fi-
nancial management; and Strengthening the Quality Assurance /
Quality Improvement effort in program management.

Under the guidance of the Associate Director, POS, communicates
and works with the Field Programs Divisions (FPD), Asia and the
Pacific Department (APD), Human Resources, Finance, and Con-
tracts and Grants and other relevant divisions/units to ensure
that the assigned tasks are initiated, coordinated and completed
in a coordinated and participatory manner. Master's degree (MPH,
International Development and Management or a related field)
with five to seven years' management experience with interna-
tional public health programs, preferably in the HIV/AIDS. Prior
working experience in program management systems development and
support and training/facilitation. Experience must reflect
knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

2. Senior Technical Officer, Evaluation, Surveillance and Re-
search (Arlington, VA)

Provide technical assistance in the design, implementation and
capacity-building of the monitoring and evaluation components of
individual and country-level HIV prevention and care and support
projects and programs; Assist in the application of program /
project monitoring and evaluation results to modify existing
programs and design new programs; Provide technical support in
evaluation research (including sampling strategies, analysis and
presentation of data) to country programs and institutions, as
appropriate; Provide technical assistance to host countries in
understanding and establishing behavioral and biologic surveil-
lance systems. PhD with 3-5 years experience or MPH or similar
degree with 5-7 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of
health programs and in applied research/evaluation in reproduc-
tive health or family planning in developing countries. Overseas
field experience and familiarity with USAID-funded programs
highly desirable. Fluency in Spanish required.

3. Country Director, ROADS Project (Burundi)

To direct the implementation of the FHI Institute of HIV/AIDS
programs in Burundi. Main responsibilities include: Serve as the
FHI representative with relevant private and public agencies,
organizations, National AIDS Control Program, USAID, and other
donors regarding Burundi programs and activities; Manage the de-
velopment of country workplans/proposals and budgets, including
periodic review and revision; Manage the design of subproject
activities with implementing partners; Identify and develop re-
source development opportunities for FHI in Burundi; and Perform
other duties as assigned by the Director, ROADS Project. MS/MA
in public health or related field and 7-9 years experience with
international development programs; or PhD/MD and 5-7 years ex-
perience with international development programs. Requires 3-5
years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience re-
quired. Fluency in oral and written French/English required.
