Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving
lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly
diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for
the following positions:
Deputy Director/Technical, GHAIN Project (Nigeria)
In close coordination with the Director of Programs, works with
and supports the Chief of Party/GHAIN, and the relevant staff of
USAID/Nigeria. Provides technical expertise and leadership for
the design and implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention, care,
treatment and support programs. Ensures the high quality HIV
prevention, care and treatment interventions are implemented in
a timely manner. Represents the GHAIN Project and FHI at local
and international meetings. MD degree and ten years professional
health care experience including at least five years specialized
experience in HIV/AIDS care in developing country settings plus
at least four years management experience. Must be an experi-
enced ART clinician.
Senior Technical Officer, Sexually Transmitted Infections (Asia
and Pacific Region)
To improve the quality of STI interventions and related research
and surveillance activities and broader HIV/STI prevention and
care intervention programs in the Asia and Pacific Region by di-
rectly providing and assisting in the overall coordination of
related technical assistance and capacity building to FHI County
Offices. MD, nursing or PA degree with extensive experience in
sexual and reproductive health with complementary training or
experience in public health. At least 5 years of a broad range
of experience in sexual health (clinical care, operations re-
search, surveillance, and laboratory issues), experience in
health delivery programs and care, preferably in Asian settings.
Experience in managing technical teams. Excellent English
skills.
Senior Technical Officer, Surveillance, Research and Evaluation
(Vietnam)
To provide technical assistance in and ensure the quality of
surveillance, research, and evaluation in Vietnam and other
Asia/Pacific countries; Provide leadership in surveillance, re-
search, and evaluation by ensuring innovative and state-of-the-
art programming; Liaison and coordinate technical assistance in
the Asia/Pacific Region with other SRE staff in the FHI/APD Re-
gional office and also in the FHI Arlington office; and Perform
other duties as assigned. Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DrPH) in
epidemiology or related field with extensive coursework in epi-
demiologic research; or equivalent years of education and ex-
perience and; 5 years experience in managing and conducting HIV
epidemiologic research or evaluating HIV prevention programs
utilizing quantitative research methodologies, including one
year experience interacting with USAID missions, plus documented
experience in writing research for publications. Experience must
reflect knowledge, skills, and abilities described above. Excel-
lent English language skills necessary.
