Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving
lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly
diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for
the following positions:
Deputy Director/Technical, GHAIN Project (Nigeria)
In close coordination with the Director of Programs, works with
and supports the Chief of Party/GHAIN, and the relevant staff of
USAID/Nigeria. Provides technical expertise and leadership for
the design and implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention, care,
treatment and support programs. Ensures the high quality HIV
prevention, care and treatment interventions are implemented in
a timely manner. Represents the GHAIN Project and FHI at local
and international meetings. MD degree and ten years professional
health care experience including at least five years specialized
experience in HIV/AIDS care in developing country settings plus
at least four years management experience. Must be an experi-
enced ART clinician.
Senior Technical Officer, Home Based Care/Palliative Care (Nige-
ria)
Under the supervision of the Director of Community Services and
in liaison with the Medical Services, Program Management, and
Monitoring & Evaluation departments, the STO, Home-based Care
(HBC)/Palliative Care will serve as the lead technical advisor
on HBC and palliative care to the Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Ni-
geria (GHAIN). Responsible for facilitating the development and
implementation of comprehensive HBC strategy and approach for
GHAIN. Works closely with GHAIN staff, Implementation Agencies
(IAs) and consortium partners to develop the capacity of local
non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community based or-
ganizations (CBOs) to provide quality care within the home and
the community, to offer adherence support to people on antiret-
roviral therapy, and to play an active role in developing/
strengthening referral networks for health and other services.
Masters Degree or equivalent combination of education and ex-
perience in public health and social sciences; Registered Nurse,
Medical Doctor or Social Worker preferred. Minimum of five years
experience implementing HIV prevention and care programs includ-
ing clinical experience in HIV/AIDS, home-based care, and pal-
liative care programs in the developing world, preferably in Af-
rica. Familiarity with Nigeria and competence in one or more of
its local languages desired, but not required.
Associate Director, Care and Treatment (Cambodia)
The Associate Director, Care & Treatment, is to function as the
primary technical support to the FHI/Cambodia Country Program
and the government's national Program on HIV/AIDS in the area of
comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment including antiretrovi-
ral therapy (ART), prevention and treatment of opportunistic in-
fections (OIs), PMTCT, VCT, community/home-based care and man-
agement support for OVC activities. The incumbent will work
closely with and support the HIV care and treatment program of
the Cambodia Ministry of Health (MOH), the National Center for
HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs (NCHADS) and other stakeholders.
Medical doctor (MD) or nurse (RN), preferably with a Masters De-
gree in public health or related field; A minimum of five years
experience in providing management of HIV/AIDS health services,
including ART, within prevention and care programs; Experience
with treatment and care in the developing world, particularly in
Cambodia and Asia; Knowledge and experience in epidemiology
and/or STI clinical management in resource-poor settings would
be advantageous; Fluency in Khmer will be an advantage.
