Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving

diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for
the following positions:
Senior Technical Officer, Palliative and CHBC (Arlington, VA)
Oversees development and implementation of the Institute's tech-
nical strategy for palliative care and Community and Home-based
Care. Provides technical assistance to country programs and im-
plementing partners to ensure technical soundness of palliative
care and CHBC. M.D., MPH or Nursing degree with equivalent ex-
perience in public health or the social sciences; and 5-7 years
experience in health and social support programs in developing
countries. Must have experience in CHBC or palliative care for
HIV/AIDS. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and
abilities listed above. Fluency in French is an asset.
Associate Technical Officer (Arlington, VA)
To support the President and the Technical Support Department in
researching and preparing presentations, writing scientific ar-
ticles, developing reports/strategies and preparing for internal
as well as external representations. Main responsibilities in-
clude: Conduct research and literature reviews to collect, re-
cord, analyze, and evaluate facts; Draft reports and technical
strategies; Collect, analyze or present data for scientific and
other publications. Create and maintain graphics for presenta-
tions; Ensure quality in all publications and presentations
through thorough proofreading and editing; Assist in the devel-
opment of technical guidelines, tools, manuals and book chap-
ters; Prepare PowerPoint presentations. Maintain PowerPoint
slide database; and perform other duties as assigned. Master's
degree plus one year of relevant experience, or Bachelor's plus
two years related experience. Significant experience in ab-
stracting documents, and conducting literature searches and re-
views (especially via the Internet). Experience with writing and
producing bibliographies a plus. Demonstrated organizational,
communication and interpersonal skills. Strong research, writing
and computer skills. Experience must reflect the knowledge,
skills, and abilities listed above.
Contracts and Grants Associate (Arlington, VA)
Work with contracts, grants, task orders, cooperative agreements
and consultancies for the Contracts and Grants function. Main
responsibilities include: Coordinate sub-agreement and subcon-
tracting implementation activities and contractual arrangements;
Update tracking tools and respond to inquiries regarding the
status of activities; Coordinate clearance requests to USAID as
needed; Serve as primary contact for the processing and initia-
tion of consultancies; and perform other duties as assigned.
MS/MA/MBA, and 1 ?3 years relevant experience; or BS/BA in Busi-
ness Administration, Accounting or related field, and 3 ?5 years
relevant experience in a business setting. Familiarity with
USAID, CDC and other donor rules and regulations. Familiarity
with OMB circulars and 22 CFR 226. Relevant computer skills,
particularly MS Office. Ability to perform detail-oriented work
with a high level of accuracy.
Program Assistant (Arlington, VA)
As a member of the program team, provide administrative, pro-
grammatic and logistical support. Main responsibilities include:
Provide program staff with administrative, programmatic, and lo-
gistical support; Assist with data management, project documen-
tation, tracking and reporting, meeting/event planning, quality
assurance tracking systems, Share point site maintenance and
other similar tasks; Track information and data flows related to
program management functions; and Perform other duties as
needed. BS/BA in public health or related field and 1-3 years
relevant work experience with international development pro-
grams.
Senior Program Officer (Arlington, VA)
As member of a field programs division: Provide leadership for
start up of new projects, as well as close out of those ending;
Contribute to Resource Development efforts by identifying oppor-
tunities and leading proposal development teams; Provide capac-
ity building support to regional and country offices; Support
Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement systems development and
implementation at HQ and field levels; Manage the development of
tools and procedures for project implementation, monitoring, and
reporting; and Participate in special projects and initiatives
as assigned. MS/MA in public health or related field, and 5 - 7
years relevant experience with international development pro-
grams; or BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7 - 9
years relevant experience with international development pro-
grams. Overseas field experience required.
Project Director, SNR (Abuja, Nigeria)
Strengthening Nigeria's Response to HIV & AIDS (SNR) is a five
year project funded by DFID/Nigeria. The Project Director is re-
sponsible for managing the project in Nigeria, focusing on ca-
pacity building at the state level. The Project Director is also
responsible for communication and coordination with DFID/Nigeria
and in working alongside the FHI Country Director in Nigeria to
represent FHI to external audiences. The position includes com-
mon elements of project management that include oversight of
project planning, monitoring, and reporting: technical, program-
matic and financial oversight of the project office, work with
local and international partners, and supervision of project
staff, and supports quality assurance/quality improvement ef-
forts at the country office and local implementing partners lev-
els. The Project Director will serve as fiduciary of funds and
signatory of bank account dedicated to SNR activities, in accor-
dance with FHI's policies and procedures, and performs other du-
ties as assigned. BS/BA in public health or related field, and
11-13 years relevant experience in international development
programs with 5-7 years supervisory experience; or MS/MA/MPH and
9 - 11 years relevant experience; or PhD, MD with 7 - 9 years
relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.
Senior Technical Officer, HES (Ethiopia)
The Senior Technical Officer, Household Economic Strengthening
(HES) will provide technical assistance for multi-sectoral com-
munity level referral network establishment and functioning to
FHI/Ethiopia and to implementing partners. The Senior Technical
Officer will provide technical assistance for design, implemen-
tation, and monitoring & evaluation of income generation activi-
ties for people dually affected by AIDS and poverty, which build
upon the multi-sectoral community level referral networks to en-
sure that the diverse needs of beneficiaries are met and they
can effectively benefit from the IGA. BS/BA in public health or
related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience; or MS/MA/MPH
and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; or PhD, MD or similar de-
gree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience. Overseas field ex-
perience required. English skills required.
