Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving
lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly
diversified program of research, education, and services in
HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health,
and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for
the following positions:
Director, Resource Development and External Relations (Washing-
ton, DC)
Leads and manages resource development and external relations
for the FHI Institute for HIV/AIDS. Guides and supports the In-
stitute's Country and Regional Offices in resource development.
Manages and coordinates external relations with respect to posi-
tioning FHI Institute for HIV/AIDS to expand and diversify its
funding base. Master's degree in related field or equivalent
years of relevant experience with at least 10 years of experi-
ence in resource development, proposal writing, and development.
Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities
listed above. Fluency in French or Spanish is desirable.
Sr. Resource Development Officer (Washington, DC)
Lead and coordinate proposal teams by overseeing the proposal
process, assisting with writing and ensuring that responsive,
competitive proposals are submitted in response to solicitations
and unsolicited opportunities from governments, foundations and
corporations. BS/BA in public health, journalism, international
relations or related field and 7-9 years of relevant experience
in proposal development, program design and other related work;
or MPH/MSPH/MS/MA in public health, journalism, international
relations or related field and 5-7 years of experience in pro-
posal development, program design and other related work.
Project Director, Regional Shell Initiative (Kenya)
Provides managements and technical oversight for FHI's Regional
Shell Initiative. Main responsibilities include: Plans and man-
ages the project(s) in the country; Manages the country office
and sub offices (if applicable); Ensures the achievement of re-
sults of which FHI is responsible under agreement with the do-
nor; Ensures that project resources are utilized in accordance
with applicable FHI and donor policies and procedures; Ensures
appropriate monitoring of subprojects to achieve financial, ad-
ministrative, and programmatic goals; Ensures production of
timely and accurate financial and programmatic reports to FHI,
and donors as required and Performs other duties assigned by the
director. BS/BA and 11-13 years relevant experience with inter-
national development programs, including 5-7 years of supervi-
sory experience; or MS/MA and 9-11 years relevant experience
with international development programs, including 5-7 years of
supervisory experience; or PhD/MD and 7-9 years relevant experi-
ence with international development programs, including 5-7
years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience re-
quired.
