propriate Health Resources and Technologies Action Group) was incorpo-
rated with the aim of promoting health education by collecting and dis-
seminating information on solutions to health and development problems
and providing technical support to those involved in health and commu-
nity development programmes throughout the world. Primary health care
was the key issue of the time, as leading experts prepared for the
landmark Alma-Ata conference the following year which was to set the
direction for much of the thinking on health policy for more than a
decade.

Times have changed. Policies and strategies have changed. The actors
involved in the health policy debate have changed. Even the terms we
now use to describe the issues have changed. Reflecting that change, on
20 July 1998, AHRTAG is officially changing its name, on its 21st anni-
versary, to Healthlink Worldwide.

To celebrate the new name, Healthlink Worldwide is hosting a lunchtime
discussion around key issues in health policy for the 21st century.
It's a timely debate, as the following day, Gro Harlem Brundtland takes
over as Director-General of the World Health Organisation. One of the
questions to consider is what role will WHO play in future health pol-
icy?

For those people unable to attend the lunchtime discussion, we have set
up an e-mail discussion group to enable questions and comments to be
fed in from around the world. To subscribe to the discussion group,
