NGOs and health policy
-------------
Dear colleagues,
In September, Aga Khan Foundation is organizing a three day policy
seminar on "The Role of NGOs in Health Sector Reform in East Africa"
in Dar-Es-Salaam. I have been invited to speak in this seminar on
"the role of NGOs in health policy." I would be very interested in
hearing from the members of this listserve about your experiences on
this topic.
How are NGOs engaged in health policy formulation and implementation
in Africa? What types of policies have they influenced? Is their
contribution welcomed by government? What successes are you aware of?
What challenges or problems have you seen?
Looking forward very much to getting your insights!
