Open/distance learning for 'front-line' health workers (3)
----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Anthony Klouda,

I was interested to see your message for AFRO-NETS on distance learn-
ing for health workers in Africa, and would be keen to hear more
about your experience.

I run a programme called INASP-Health within the International Net-
work for the Availability of Scientific Publications. We function as
a co-operative network to support the activities of health informa-
tion provider organisations in developing countries, and have links
inter alia with a large number of NGOs, publishers, and libraries,
North and South, whose common aim is to improve access to reliable
information for doctors and other health workers in developing coun-
tries. Further details are available on:

http://www.oneworld.org/inasp/

and in the December 1997 issue of 'World Health'.

The production, distribution, and use of materials by front-line
health workers is clearly dependent on the factors you identify in
your message, and I would be grateful to hear more about your
thoughts on this.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Neil Pakenham-Walsh MD
