[afro-nets] RFI: HIV Prevalence Levels in West Uganda

RFI: HIV Prevalence Levels in West Uganda
-----------------------------------------

Hello all colleagues at AFRO-NETS

I am a junior researcher currently composing a report about HIV
Prevalence levels in Uganda. Could anyone help me with the lat-
est literature concerning the topic?

Specifically, I would be interested in knowing the current HIV
AIDS prevalence in Uganda (I understand it rose from the 5.0%
figure in 2001, which I currently have) and specifically within
the districts of West Uganda.

Information concerning the impact of continued HIV sensitization
/ information on behavior changes, if available will equally be
appreciated.

Waiting in expectation for your reply either to this address
mailto:krp_print@yahoo.com or on my personal address:
mailto:josh_kayiwa@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance

RFI: HIV Prevalence Levels in West Uganda (2)
---------------------------------------------

Hi there - the Uganda AIDS Commission released a press release
and PowerPoint on the 2004-2005 Uganda HIV/AIDS Sero-Behavioral
Survey (UHSBS) on May 2nd, 2005, but the actual report (to my
knowledge) has not been released yet. You can get a copy of the
press release (which reviews highlights of the report and states
that national prevalence is 7% for adults (with 10.7% in urban
areas and 6.4% in rural areas) and the PowerPoint from UAC of-
fice.

Good luck!
