RFI: What to say about safer sex? (3)
-------------------------------------

Dear Dr. King,

As an African health practitioner, your efforts and concerns against
this AIDS epidemic, which is killing millions of Africans are very
much appreciated. However, I do not agree with your view that educat-
ing people about certain health practices such as 'Heavy petting',
etc., can be effective in stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS. I think
that our efforts should be emphasised on replicating policies that
have worked elsewhere, such as the basic education about safe sex and
the dangers of AIDS.

Yes, I did notice what you've said about the condoms being distrib-
uted not being nearly enough and that the training hasn't worked ei-
ther. However, by customising the delivery techniques, education of
the target population will be more effective and produce measurable
outcomes in line with your objective.
