RFI: What to say about safer sex? (5)
-------------------------------------
"What to say about safer sex?"
As a Hungarian, who has spent nearly seven years in Africa, - I want
to cite in this subject, the former president of RSA, Nelson Mandela
who said the following in 1998:
"HIV/AIDS is among us. It is real. It is spreading. We can only win
against HIV/AIDS if we join hands... It is not someone else's prob-
lem. It is my problem. It is your problem. By allowing it to spread,
we face the danger that half of our youth will not reach adulthood...
The time has come to teach our children to have safe sex, TO HAVE ONE
PARTNER, AND USE CONDOMS.... For too long we have closed our eyes,
hoping the truth was not so real..." (Declaration on Partnership
against AIDS.)
I think this is valid all over the world, not only in Africa.
Best regards to all of you,
