Summary:

The overall purpose of this position is to provide leadership for
Pathfinder's HIV/AIDS programming worldwide with the aim of com-
bating the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Senior HIV/AIDS Programs Advisor
will provide technical support to all Pathfinder International
HIV/AIDS programs. Specifically, the Senior Advisor will work
closely with the Leadership Team and the Programs Department in:

a) The development and implementation of long-term country program
proposals, strategies, results frameworks, work plan and budgets.

b) The design and implementation of regional and global technical,
program and evaluation initiatives at the regional and country
program levels; and

c) Regular portfolio reviews, reports and evaluations assessing
program progress against expected results. The incumbent will co-
ordinate with Resource Development Department in efforts to secure
additional funding sources for program activities worldwide.

Responsibilities:

* Coordinate the development of Pathfinder's global HIV/AIDS
  strategy.

* Spearhead, forge and manage Pathfinder's participation in part-
  nership initiatives for HIV/AIDS;

* Cultivate opportunities for strategic alliances with partners in
  the field.

* Work in close coordination with Pathfinder's field offices to
  ensure that the complex problems presented by HIV/AIDS are given
  appropriate consideration in country program strategies and ensure
  that support is provided for high quality HIV/AIDS programming
  throughout Pathfinder programs.

* Participate in situational, technical and program analyses and
  develop appropriate programmatic responses specific to low preva-
  lence countries and for countries worst affected by the pandemic
  in collaboration with Pathfinder professionals.

* Advocate for key issues on HIV/AIDS with diverse constituency
  groups.

* Represent Pathfinder within the international HIV/AIDS commu-
  nity, international meetings and at both program strategy and pol-
  icy making levels.

* Share responsibility for building a broad and diverse funding
  base in support of Pathfinder's HIV/AIDS programs.

* Provide program support to country programs; strengthen country
  HIV/AIDS program strategies, results frameworks and proposals.

* Promote institutional learning in and across regions; document
  and disseminate technical information and resources; and identify
  best practices and lessons learned and promote south-to-south col-
  laboration.

Job requirements:

* Ten or more years experience in reproductive health and HIV/AIDS
  program management, preferably with at least five or more years
  experience resident in Africa, Asia or Latin America.

* Extensive experience with USAID funded programs and, preferably,
  one or more other international donors.

* Excellent communication and writing skills as well as strong in-
  terpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.

* Master's Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or re-
  lated Social Sciences.

* Outstanding negotiating skills.

* Familiarity with reproductive health program monitoring and
  evaluation.

* Willingness to travel.
