[afro-nets] Successful launch of HIV SMS quiz program in Uganda (2)

Thank you TTC group for successfully utilising the mobile telephones in Uganda for a very useful health activity. Iam very grateful to the great idea and to see it actually motivated people to come for VCT! Please keep it up.

I was wondering whether you have plans of making use of other mobile networks like MTN which seems to reach many people especially in your area of study, my country home, western region, so as to get many people come for VCT. Ofcouse scaling up to all regions in the Country.

However, I have a question: After VCT and someone is found HIV+, what next? Does the person go straight to the recommended source of ART or you let the person access ART of his/her choice?

But well-done!

Dear Jenipher

Maybe your question has already been answered. Not everyone who is HIV +ve needs ART. Part of the procedure during the VCCT would be to explain that the next step should be ensuring that the person enrolls in a program where they can be supported, monitored and advised.

Best wishes
