Telemedicine and village pay phones (3)

This is interesting, in Tanzania, village based health (public, volun-
tary and private Rural Health centres, dispensaries and clinics) educa-
tional (primary, secondary and technical schools in rural areas) and
community centres could be targeted facilities. It will be helpful to
involve national training institutions as pilot and resource points in
the short and long run.
We (a private medical services consulting company) are currently put-
ting up a similar project as a hospital based health information system
which will be linked to regional, district and rural health facilities
in the country. With the links in place the capability of using current
technologies for priority themes can hopefully be developed, given the
resources.
