being facilitated at the University of the Western Cape - around an is-
sue that impacts directly on our work in the health and development

AIM OF THE COURSE:
To offer participants an opportunity to learn the principles of human
rights law in the areas of health rights and professional responsibili-
ties.

COURSE CONTENT:
Health and Human Rights: Roles and Responsibilities of Health Profes-
sionals, Health and International Human rights Law; International
Medical Codes of Ethics.

Brief Historical Background: Apartheid and Health Status, Access to
Care, Political Detention.

Women's Health and Human Rights: Sexuality and Reproductive Health
Rights; Violence against Women.
