Tuition scholarship for international training

I would like to provide you with updated information regarding our
three-week Health Systems Management Program (March 7 - 26, 2001).
Galillee College, the leading management institute in Israel, will be
able to grant tuition scholarships to qualified candidates who are
citizens of Developing Countries.

This course is designed to fulfil the special requirements of senior
health professionals and administrators. All applicants must have a
University degree and be fluent in English. Once the candidate is ad-
mitted, he or she will have to cover only the airfare to and from Is-
rael and the living expenses (US$ 2,865) while the participant is in
Israel.

Should you wish to recommend a candidate or candidates please ask
them to fax the complete registration form as well as their CV to our
International Department. As soon as our Admission Committee reviews
and approves the application, a full tuition scholarship will be
granted.

Course outline - Health Systems Management

This program is designed for senior hospital directors and health of-
ficers who are responsible for health planning, management and devel-
opment.

Participants in the program will review and analyze the wide range of
problems encountered in health systems management at its differing
levels and consider advanced techniques and strategies in use for ap-
proaching these problems and dealing with them in their various as-
pects.

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the program is to impart and review acquaintance with
advanced knowledge and managerial techniques appropriate for use by
managers and physicians who hold senior managerial positions. These
issues will be approached from the point of view of general manage-
ment aspects and of the unique health and welfare environment.

The program brings together senior health managers and policy makers
whose responsibilities involve allocation of resources, development
of policies and leadership, formulation of strategies, and evaluation
of feasibility studies.

The three-week program is devoted to the intensive and systematic
study of some of the critical management, planning and policy prob-
lems faced by such senior managers. The course introduces methods,
which may be utilized in coping with the particular health and medi-
cal environment met in the participants' day to day work.

Participants in the Program examine, analyze, and consider strategies
and policies concerning managerial and planning problems met with in
the context of health systems and their development. Special focus is
placed on the leadership role in health organizations and on advanced
decision-making techniques.

As a result of the program experience, participants will enhance
their management, planning, policy and decision-making skills as re-
lated to health systems operation and development. They will also im-
prove their strategies and methods of approach to problem solving in
their current and future roles in the health management field.
