Vacancy: Roll Back Malaria Field Officer for Southern Sudan

There is a need to increase the capacity of NGOs and UN agencies
based from Lokichoggio and other locations in southern Sudan to scale
up RBM action and support other priority communicable disease inter-
ventions, through ensuring effective mobilization, co-ordination, li-
aison and technical support. Consequently we will recruit a WHO Com-
municable Diseases Partnership Support Field Officer for southern Su-
dan for a period of 11 months as an STP Grade 3. The candidate will
be based in Lokichoggi (Kenya).
The main terms of reference are:
* To ensure effective co-ordination of partners for scaling up imple-
mentation of priority RBM activities, and other CD initiatives;
* To establish effective base line information on malaria;
* To increase the technical quality of the communicable disease part-
nership activities;
* To monitor and evaluate partnership progress and impact of inter-
ventions.
Qualification needed are: Medical doctor with Public Health or Tropi-
cal Medicine degree and good English language skills.
Work experience: work experience in complex emergencies, work experi-
ence for non-governmental organizations.
