Youth, communication, advocacy & AIDS prevention

September 27 - October 15, 1999

Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs is accepting applica-
tions to YOUTHFIRST: Strategic Communication & Advocacy for Health, a
3-week workshop with a special focus on HIV/AIDS prevention.

YOUTHFIRST workshop participants explore theory and practice of effec-
tive behaviour change communication and advocacy and develop a complete
program for youth with SCOPE, an interactive computer tool. This year
features
1) in-depth study of high-risk behaviour among youth,
2) expanded sessions on health and media advocacy, and
3) examination of youth issues in developed and developing countries.

YOUTHFIRST is designed for decision-makers, administrators, health edu-
cators, program officers, managers of HIV/AIDS and youth programs, and
donor agency field staff working on youth issues.
