Thanks for the feedback on the Index 2010 Kevin. Based on stakeholder
feedback on the Index 2008, The methodology Index 2010 has changed and
we now actually do measure performance on the ground besides
transparency and commitment of companies. An example of a datapoint that
is included in the methodology (Index 2010 has more than 10 indicators)
is whether The company has inter-country tiered pricing schemes for the
Index Countries for the products for Index Diseases (to be analyzed
across products portfolio including drugs, vaccines, diagnostic kits,
vector controls, microbicides etc.), which aim at achieving affordable
access to such products for the Index Countries.
We indeed currently do not measure how more implementation of tiered
pricing increases improved health in low income populations but all
stakeholders believe that implementation of tiered pricing has a
positive correlation with improved heath, and that is what we strive for
