E-DRUG: Access to Medicines Index launches 2nd edition (2)

This is a worthy effort, but we should not equate a high score on this index with patients gaining access in low-income populations. The methodology includes many intermediate goals such as management goals and research, rather than the ultimate endpoint - improved health in low-income populations.
An alternative methodology would measure actual health gains from improved access.
