E-DRUG: alternatives for chloroform?

ALTERNATIVE FORMULAS WHICH EXCLUDE CHLOROFORM AS A PRESERVATIVE
We are trying to revise our current formulary.
Please could any one suggest alternative formulations which do not contain
chloroform as a preservative, and state the reference for the formula, for
the
following:
chloroquin syrup 50mg/5ml
paracetamol elixir 120mg/5ml
Mist. Kaolin
Mist Potassium Citrate
Mist Potassium Chloride
Ferrous sulphate mixture
Mist Morphine
ARI formula cough mixture ( with ammonium chloride)
Simple linctus

[The UN list of banned substances lists many countries which have already
banned chloroform. Can E-druggers please send their alternative
formulations to Felicity directly at email: fmayfield@healthnet.zw
I sympathize with removing chloroform, but I have problems with Mixt Kaolin
if that is used for acute diarrhoea in children. I think we should stop
this type of proven ineffective "stool cosmetics" from our Essential Drug
Formularies.
Similarly, should we promote the use of "cough mixtures"?
