E-DRUG: Banned drugs
--------------------
I am a reporter with Mother Jones magazine (website:
http://www.motherjones.com) in Washington, DC. Mother Jones magazine
is a bimonthly investigative magazine that reports on political and
consumer issues. It is based in San Francisco and has been around
for over 20 years, with circulation over 150,000.
I am trying to obtain any information about U.S. pharmaceutical
products that have been banned by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration, but are available for sale in other countries. If
you know of drugs that have been banned by the FDA but can be
purchased outside of the U.S., please contact me.
I am also interested in pharmaceutical products that are donated by
U.S. companies, but are outdated or useless in the countries where
they are sent. Any information about what companies donated the
goods, what charitable organization arranged for the donation to be
dealt with in the country that received them would be tremendously
helpful. I have heard that it is extremely hard to trace the
donations to a particular company. However, I have heard dozens of
stories about useless drugs shipped in the name of humanitarian aid.
Please contact me if you have information regarding either of these
topics.
