[e-drug] Course "Managing drug supply" (cont'd)

E-drug: Course "Managing drug supply" (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-Druggers,

The views of Ms Geeta Pradeep regarding Managing Drug Supply
courses in developing countries are an exact replication of
thoughts/views of the many young, budding "hopeful" architects of
pharmacy practice in India. The locations of the courses and the
costs are prohibitive and beyond imagination.

A few alternatives to benefit pharmacists in such countries would
be:

1. WHO/MSH could train at least ONE "trainer" in each developing
    country, who could in turn train many in their own countries;
2. The actual course/training materials could be put up on the
    Internet for aspirants to access & study on their own.
    (Something better than no access & no training at the actual
    WHO course);
3. An actual training course could be recorded & put on CDs,
    which then could be distributed to pharmacy organizations in
    each country (for a nominal price). Aspirants of the course
    could then buy these (again at a nominal price), and view these
    in their own settings, and get benefits of it.

In the past 6 years at least, I have only heard (very often) that the
book Managing Drug Supply is a must for every pharmacist, and is
a very good source of information, and that the courses are also
very good and useful. I hope that in the near future I get to actually
experience these 2 "useful" resources. Can WHO/MSH help us
aspirants? We pray they do!
