E-DRUG: Dipyrone/metamizol revisited (9)
-------------------------------------------------
< is there a need for an Essential Blacklist of Medicines from WHO?
Readers may please note that worldwide drug restrictions, withdrawals
and suspensions (omissions excepted) are compiled in what is known as
the UN Consolidated List of Products whose consumption and / or Sale
have been banned, withdrawn, severely restricted or not approved by
Governments.
The volume on pharmaceuticals of the above publication is published
every other year. The Quality Assurance and Safety: Medicines unit (QSM)
in the Department of Medicines Policy and Standards (PSM) in WHO
compiles the information on Pharmaceuticals. Updates on pharmaceuticals
(also compiled by QSM) are published in the alternate years, when the
full Consolidated List does not include information on medicines.
The latest of the Consolidated List (for Pharmaceuticals) is the Eighth
Issue. The update to the eight issue in currently in the press.
Metamizole is one of the drugs included in the compilation. And here are
