E-drug: Ensuring ethical drug promotion--whose responsibility? (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------
Dear e-druggers,
Nice to see top staff at WHO taking action against this "advertorial
campaign of information" from Pfizer.
La revue Prescrire critized strongly this campaign in its April issue on
several grounds, one of them being that this is a public responsibility
to educate patients. The daily medical newspaper Le Quotidien du Mdecin
(full of advertisements) published an editorial where it accused La revue
Prescrire of being intolerant in refusing Big pharma the right to
educate people...
The European Parliament has rejected the Commission's proposal to allow
DTC advertisement in Europe. Never mind, Pfizer and others are promoting
their drugs by other ways.
