E-DRUG: Expressions of Interest): Pharmacy Practice Research Retreat Day 2nd May 2017
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited to attend Pharmacy Practice Research Retreat Day, which is planned for Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at Bagden Hall Hotel in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Below please find background information on the event:

The vision of the University of Huddersfield is to be an inspiring, innovative University of international renown. The University achieved a strong performance in the UK league tables in the Research Excellence Framework 2014 (REF2014). This was demonstrated through a focus on distinctive research strengths and the production of outstanding research outputs. The aim of the REF2020 is to develop the University as a leading international research institution by supporting innovative interdisciplinary research.

To align with these aims and to improve population health, the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield has planned this event. Medicines are the most common health interventions and the way medicines are used can impact on humans and society as a whole. The challenges related to medicines use could include medicines compliance, medicines optimization, barriers in achieving optimal pharmacotherapy, issues related to high cost, highly specialized medicines and funding of medicines. Solving these macro and micro level issues could improve patient health outcomes and can enhance quality of life.

In this context, this retreat aims to promote pharmacy practice research and to chart out a pharmacy practice research strategy.

The day will be attended by our pharmacy staff, however, pharmacist/healthcare professionals with an interest in practice and health-based research are welcome to attend this event.

If you are keen to attend this event, kindly send your expression of interest to Prof. Zaheer Babar at Z.Babar@hud.ac.uk

Kind Regards
Zaheer
