E-DRUG: Industry influencing prescribing
-----------------------------------------------------------
Our team at EBN Health has been working to produce resources for use at the
point of care which are evidence-based, free of undue influence, and
independent of industry or other interests.
In 2015-16 we worked with the ministry of health in Kazakhstan to create and set up a team to manage a new national formulary, reflecting local registered medicines and policy as well as international best practice and evidence. We are also publishing a
series of medical oncology guides which offer cases that can inform
clinical decisions.
We are convinced that if appropriately edited, presented, published and
promoted, such resources can squeeze out the undue influence of industry
(though of course all resources like this depend on the steady flow of
evidence that good companies provide). We would like to work on clinical
guidelines that are actionable and accessible at the point of care, as well
as formulary tools. Do you know of any other evidence-based resources that
provide a level of support that makes them the first point of reference at
the point of care?
