Dear all,

We are planning to publish a paper to encourage the reform of pharmacists'
license regulation in South Korea to meet patients' needs. Although we've
been trying assiduously to get informations abroad, it was not very easy to
access the regulatory policies from other countries including European
countries and various Asian countries.

The list of the things we need are as follows and we would appreciate if
any of you can send us concret contents of legislation/act concerning this
issue of your country and also contact information of whom we can get
information from. Please feel free to forward this letter to the persons
whoever may be interested.

Thank you.

1. How long do you have to take courses in pharmacy schools
(eg., South Korea: 4 years, 8 semesters)

2. How long do you have to get training in retail pharmacy, hospital
pharmacy, etc. to get pharmacist's license
or How long do you have to take internships, etc. after you get your
license to be able to practice.
(eg., South Korea: none. There are small number of hospital pharmacies
running internship/residency program of their own but not yet to be
certified by the government or even the hospitals.)

3. Whether the pharmacist's license is life-long or has to be renewed.
Whether training is needed to renew the license. The required time of
training to get the license renewed.
(eg., South Korea: the license is life-long. No traning needed)

4. Is there any institution universally regulating courses taught in
pharmacy schools? and if so, what is the name of the institution?
(eg., South Korea: No)

5. Is there any institution universally regulating pharmacy training
courses after graduation? and if so, what is the name of the institution?
(eg., South Korea: No.)

6. The name of the institution regulating pharmacist board exam, and the
contact information of the institution.
(eg., South Korea: National Health Personnel Licensing Examination Board.)
