UNICEF, the world's leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Contracts Officer for our Supply Division, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The successful applicant will responsible for the analysis, planning and development of global trends for supply of Immunization supply materials, including review of financing and funding to support procurement.
This includes:
1. Participating in complex negotiations and resolving sensitive matters pertaining to immunization supply and undertaking consultant or audit missions to field offices as required.
2. Developing business trend analysis tools and methods to monitor trends for SD and UNICEF assisted programmes.
3. Managing financing of materials; including proposing method of funding, purchase-VII, subsidise, bridge-financing etc. and ensuring all activities are in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual, and all other applicable procurement procedures.
4. Performing market intelligence gathering and conducting written analyses in order to establish perspectives of future market conditions and potential funding needs.
5. Working with various internal divisions, external partner agencies and manufacturers in order to obtain information required and in order to perform and present analysis.
6. Identifying regional and country level supply information and knowledge needed to improve national supply function capacity.
Providing feedback to regional and country offices on the progress, trends, impact and relevant benchmarking in the global supply context.
7. Making recommendations and proposals relative to systems requirements in collaboration with the Information Technology Centre, as well as on new product development based on monitoring and feedback results.
Qualifications and Competencies:
· Advanced University degree in business management or other relevant technical/health degree.
· Training in statistical analysis or business analysis, information analysis or systems analysis.
· Minimum 8 years professional work experience at progressively increasing levels of responsibility, involving trend analysis, forecasting and planning preferably at an international level.
· Solid experience in Immunization partnerships on issues related to programmes, funding, financing and/or supply chain.
· Proven experience in business analysis (eg., Product or Marketing management).
· Ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
· Ability to conceptualize and interpret statistical model.
· Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
· Ability to provide leadership and supervise a support team.
· Ability to establish harmonious working relations in an international and multicultural environment.
· Good knowledge of computer applications.
· Fluency in English and another UN language are required.
NOTE: The contract duration is for one year and contract renewals will be subject to availability of funding.
