---------------------------------------------
(1) Whether Central Medical Stores or (equivalents) prioritise magnesium
sulphate as a Vital, Essential or Necessary item in the VEN categorisation
- Since it's the drug of choice we consider it essential.
and (2) Whether its use is restricted to specialists and central
(tertiary) hospitals only or whether it can be prescribed at provincial and
district hospital level.
- Every hospital stocks it. Since many community hospitals don't have obs
specialist the GPs routinely order it. Mat nurses are quite accustomed to
giving it.
