E-DRUG: MeTA skills workshop for Indian CSOs? (2)
-------------------------------------------------
Dear Dr Vijay Thawani,
At present the MeTA initiative is in a pilot phase (funded by the British development agency DFID), and is focusing on 7 pilot countries: Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines and Peru.
MeTA has already organised a workshop with the African countries. This means that the upcoming Civil Society Skills building workshop in Philippines is unfortunately reserved for Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines and Peru only.
However, the topics you raise (governance, transparency and accountability)
are obviously important to all countries, including India. MeTA will be
probably be welcoming new countries toward the end of the current pilot
phase (2008-2009).
If you don't want to wait until 2010, then I would suggest that you arrange
independent funding. MeTA will gladly make the course material available.
Some older MeTA documents are available at: http://www.dfidhealthrc.org/MeTA/
Once the new MeTA website is up and running, and has a link to the workshop materials, we will send more information to E-drug.
With kind regards
Wilbert Bannenberg
