E-DRUG: New Director for WHO/EMP

Dear e-druggers,
Today the WHO Director-General has announced the appointment of Dr Suzanne Hill as the new Director of the WHO Department of Essential Medicines and Health Products in the Health Systems and Innovation Cluster (HIS/EMP), as from 15 May 2016. Dr Hill is from Australia and she was previously Chair of the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. Before that she was a staff member of the EMP Department. As such she was for many years the secretary of the Expert Committee on the Selection and Use of Essential Medicines. Within WHO she established the Guidelines Review Committee, which promoted the transparent development process and evidence-base of all WHO guidelines.
Sue is known to many e-drug readers, and we wish her all the best in this very demanding position.
