----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear all
I am am glad do announce:
REVISTA CIÊNCIA & SAÚDE COLETIVA
Pharmaceutical Services and Access to Medicines
ISSUE 22.8 (AUGUST/2017)
Organized by researchers Claudia Garcia Serpa Osorio de Castro, Maria
Auxiliadora Oliveira and Daniela Maciel Moulin de Vascon celos
The 22.8/ 2017 issue of the /Revista Ciência & Saúde Coletiva/ addresses
Pharmaceutical Services, which, according to the World Health
Organization, is defined as a 'group of medicines-related services and
activities geared to support the health actions demanded by the
community'. This 'operating' set must ensure that users receive quality
services and supplies.
The Pharmaceutical Services concept has been established in Brazil in
the last thirty years, at first, delimiting the field of practice of the
pharmaceutical profession. The term then expanded, encompassing
research, development, dispensation and use, as well as gathering
professionals from health, technology and social sciences in
multi-professional and multi-sectoral activities.
This thematic issue proposes to show the progress made in the field and
the various scopes of action and introduction of multiple professionals.
It begins with a debate focused on the UN High-Level Panel on the
subject, in which national and international authors are involved. Then,
studies on the development of the subject in Brazil are shown: Analysis
of the National Medicines Policy and Pharmaceutical Services practice at
different levels of care; Evaluation of current programs and policies;
and other crucial issues relating to production, marketing, care and
rational use of drugs. Two papers address the topic beyond national
borders. Two systematic reviews and a review complement the list of this
issue, representative of the common field of action.
Readers will greatly benefit from reading texts that could beinteresting
not only to scholars and researchers, but also to those who should
benefit from the Medicines Policy in the country.
