E-drug: New UK govt policy on access to essential medicines (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------
Canada doesn't have a comprehensive policy document like the one from the
U.K. but as e druggers will probably know a couple of months ago Canada
passed legislation that will allow generic drug companies to obtain
compulsory licenses to export certain drugs to developing countries. There
are a number of flaws in this legislation, how serious they will be
determined when companies try to use this law, but as far as I know Canada
is the first developed country to pass such legislation.
