[e-drug] Partnerships

E-drug: Partnerships
---------------------------------------------
In April, a meeting on "Partnerships" was held in Boston. The meeting
was organized by the Harvard School of Public Health and the Global
Health Council. Funding was provided by a number of drug companies and
the Edna McConnel Clark foundation.

An overview piece has been written by Michael Reich from Harvard School
of Public Health and has been published in Nature Medicine and is
available on the Web at www.nature.com/nm/web_specials
The papers from the workshop are also available at
www.hsph.harvard.edu/partnerships/

I found the meeting interesting. The most striking thing that struck me
was the lack of mutual knowledge or understanding which existed between
activists, essential drug types and members of the pharmaceutical
industry. As "Partnerships" are clearly going to be a significant part
of the international pharmaceutical scene understanding this process is
clearly important. Reading these papers will help this understanding.

If you are unable to access these papers I suggest that you write to
Michael Reich at : Reich@hsph.harvard.edu . The titles of the papers
