[e-drug] Pharmaceutical Services Distribution

E-drug: Pharmaceutical Services Distribution
---------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues

We are currently exploring ways of improving national distribution of
private sector pharmaceutical service outlets in order to promote
access to essential drugs and professional advice on correct
utilisation and storage of drugs.

We would be grateful for any useful info on recommended ratios of
pharmacists or pharmaceutical outlets per population, particularly
relating to less-developed countries with limited numbers of
qualified professionals available.

Any ideas on practical and sustainable incentives to induce
pharmacists to set up pharmacies in 'rural', less well-served areas
would also be most welcome.
