E-drug: Re: Problem manufacturers (cont'd)
----------------------------------------------------------

The discussion on a "black list" and the legalities thereof are very
important. Can we hear from some regulators on how they think
that we should approach the idea? How do we get around all the
"secrecy" attached to regulatory matters?

Here is part of a message which was forwarded to me independently of e-drug:

'To be legally on the safe side a database on bad quality drugs could be
based
on tests of rejected drugs giving information on the
(INN/form/supplier/batch/date/who did the test/results). May be low price
suppliers like IDA would be a good source. One could then judge from the
number and date of entries in the database whether a supplier is ok or not.'

One problem is that everybody is so secretive about it.

Many thanks

[Moderators Comments I think the idea of a black list is fraught with
problems. Surely we should concentrate on a white list which would be much
less problematic. Richard Laing Co-Moderator]
