E-drug: Request for information
---------------------------------------------
Dear Ms Collins,
I fear that the scope of your request is too broad to generate many
useful answers. Maybe you want to think of how you to narrow down
your research question and which specific area(s) you want to
research. On Bangladesh there have been a number of very useful
publications (see below). HAI has an impressive bibliography and
you may want to search their website (http://www.haiweb.org). And
if you want to know about how the pharmaceutical industry changed
over time, you may want to study the series of publications of
Silverman and Lydecker.
Whereas views of individual key informants may be very valuable in
understanding the issues, it is maybe more important to know which
interventions have proven successful in different settings in the world.
To learn about effective interventions at grassroots level, as well as
national policy level, you can search the website of the International
Conference on Improving the Use of Medicines (ICIUM),
http://www.who.int/dap-icium/index.html. Many experiences are
published there and you can contact most of the authors, as the e-
mail addresses are often listed.
As a last suggestion, you may contact INRUD to obtain the INRUD
drug use bibliography, which runs under Reference Manager. This
bibliography is much wider than only drug use and contains a wealth
of information on all the areas listed by you. Contact the INRUD
coordinator David Lee at inrud@msh.org to obtain this bibliography.
Good luck,
