Pharmacoepidemiology in Drug Use and Effects, Drug Safety and Vigilance

The program is being scheduled to be initiated from October 8 to 12, 2018
at IIHMR University, Jaipur, India and you are cordially invited for the
nomination in the due programme on or before 4-weeks from the commencement
of the programme.

About Program

Pharmacoepidemiology, an emerging discipline, provides methods and
techniques to assess potential short and long-run adverse drug events in
the population, patient safety risks, analysis of prescribing behavior of
medication and determinants, measuring access, availability and use of
drugs and medicines, field evaluation of effectiveness of medicines, and
analysis of cost and benefit (pharmaco-economics). In addition,
pharmacovigilance and post-marketing surveillance, and monitoring of
implementation of regulatory practices in manufacturing and marketing. The
aim of the program is to develop understanding of concepts and methods in
Pharmacoepidemiology and their applications.

Content of the program

   - Concepts of Pharmacoepidemiology, its roles, and applications in the
   pharmaceutical industry
   - Overview of epidemiologic methods in the pharmaceutical sector
   - Basic statistical measures and their interpretations
   - Methods for assessment and evaluation of drug-associated adverse
   events, medication errors and Pharmacovigilance;
   - Assessments of risk and benefit in drug therapy
   - Patterns of drug use and behavior
   - Design, analysis, and interpretation of Pharmacoepidemiology and
   Pharmacovigilance studies for the better outcomes
   - Postmarketing surveillance – design and implementation
