In an ongoing effort to raise awareness and access to health informa-
tion, the Ministry of Health is launching a web resource for health
professionals, managers, and the general public in Uganda and the
rest of the world. As a way of promoting the policies and activities
of the Ministry of Health to the outside world, The Ministry of
Health can now be found on the worldwide web at:
http://www.health.go.ugThe site will communicate the national health mission, policies and
strategies, share information, statistics and resources, provide up-
dates on programs and activities, advocate with policy-makers, opin-
ion leaders and donors about health issues in Uganda. The web site is a great resource of information on the Uganda health
sector, and also an exhibition of applicable health strategies and
programs for developing countries. The site contains among others the following:

cedures and guidelines

with Ugandan health professionals and other African countries. It is
my hope that all Ministry of Health partners will make use of this
valuable resource to share successful tools and interventions for im-
proved health in Uganda and the world over. We welcome and invite new
input to our website. We've built this web site with our customers and clients needs in
mind. Our new site is geared towards improving access to information
in real time by all our stakeholders and then providing all the nec-
essary pertinent information that will assist health managers at all
levels in making informed, intelligent decisions. Several partner or-
ganizations worked with the Ministry of Health to make this web re-
source possible, including the Delivery of Improved Services for
Health II (DISH II) Project, the United States Agency for Interna-
tional Development (USAID), DANIDA, and WHO.The Ministry of Health web-based ICT Information Service aims at col-
