Title: HIV/AIDS Supply Chain Management Specialist
Duration: One year, with option to renew for one year
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/ week)
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; considerable traveling involved
Position Overview:
The Specialist will provide technical assistance to strengthen the pharmaceutical management of HIV/AIDS-related drugs and supplies, thereby ensuring reliable delivery of antiretroviral medicines and other essential HIV/AIDS-related drugs and supplies to hospitals and health centers across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
· Evaluate existing systems and guide the development or refinement of existing forecasting, distribution and inventory management tools; and reporting and communication systems;
· Manage and coordinate forecasting for ARVs and HIV/AIDS related commodities with key stakeholders;
· Support the procurement process and distribution planning;
· Support and coordinate with Federal and Regional PASS offices to ensure proper stock management:
· Help to promote the rational use of ARVs and HIV-related supplies through the disbursement of guidelines, protocols, training material, registration books and tools;
· Liaise closely with the Regional Health Bureaus
· Strengthen communication sharing across HIV/AIDS programs with government agencies and key partners.
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
· University degree in supply management, medical logistics, business management or related disciplines; Masters in Pharmacy preferred.
· Experience in medical supply management; applicants with management consulting or other relevant private sector experience are encouraged to apply.
· Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills
· Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic; knowledge of other regional languages is an advantage.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.
· Willingness and ability to travel within Ethiopia.
· Strong dedication to improving the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia.
