FDA Looking Into Johnson & Johnson Consumer Complaints
Patients may be asking about reports that the FDA has received hundreds
of complaints related to Johnson & Johnson children's medicines
following an April 30 recall.
The company recalled more than 40 types of children's and infants'
liquid medicines -- including Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, and Zyrtec --
over concerns that they didn't meet quality standards.
Citing a congressional memo, the Associated Press reports that the FDA
has been alerted to seven deaths since the recall. The AP quotes the
memo as saying, "At this time, FDA is not aware of any child being
harmed by taking one of the recalled products."

Hylenex Recombinant Recalled
All lots of Hylenex recombinant (hyaluronidase human injection) are
being recalled by Baxter International Inc. because small particles of
glass were found in some vials during routine stability testing, the FDA
announced on Wednesday.
Hylenex is used as an aid in subcutaneous fluid administration and to
help the body absorb other injected medications. Roughly 3500 vials of
the drug are currently in the marketplace, according to Baxter. The
company will be contacting customers directly to seek return of the vials.
There have been no adverse medical events reported so far.
