------------------------------------------------------
November 4-6, 1999
Nairobi, Kenya
Implementing ICPD has acquired significant momentum through out
Africa. This momentum can be fully appreciated within a framework
that highlights experiences of individual projects. Partnerships
among NGOs improves products and services and enhances impact.
This Conference will draw delegates from NGOs in sub-Saharan Af-
rica working in reproductive health. Representatives from the
private sector and government departments will also be invited to
give their perspective on the conferences themes. The conference
aims to
- stimulate communication and collaboration among NGOs the pri-
vate sector and governments;
- identify priority areas for partnership for the benefit of
reproductive health services;
- develop a framework for partnership in implementing the ICPD
Programme of Action.
There will be parallel conference tracks, with cross-cutting ple-
nary sessions. These will cover
- partnerships,
- governance and sustainability,
- comprehensive reproductive health issues,
- gender issues in reproductive health,
- adolescent-friendly initiatives.
Participants will share approaches to reproductive health serv-
ices. This information-sharing will be a catalyst for building
alliances.
