Technical Advisor, OVC (Arlington, VA)
To provide technical leadership in Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) programming for the Public Health Programs (PHP) of FHI. Main responsibilities include: Provide technical direction and ensure the highest quality of OVC activities of the Public Health Programs through technical input, capacity building and supervision of OVC staff and management of the portfolio; Coordinate and manage activities and technical assistance priorities of staff, consultants and other resource agencies in carrying out the PHP's OVC activities; Stimulate and act as a resource for the development of innovative and expanded responses in OVC through the active involvement of a Global Technical Leadership Team. Master's Degree or equivalent in Public Health or the psychosocial sciences, qualified in child development or welfare with 7-9 years experience. At least seven years experience in the field of children's issues, four of which needs to include working in developing countries.
Fluency in French or Spanish is preferred.
Vice President, Operations, PHP (Arlington, VA)
Provides oversight for the operational activities of PHP. Maintains overview of all PHP projects, coordinates budgeting and financial reporting and oversight for centrally-funded programs and resource development. Works closely and coordinates with the other members of the Executive Team. MD or PhD, with public health degree or equivalent experience in public health, and 11-13 years of professional experience; or Master's degree in relevant discipline; and 13-15 years of professional health experience. Experience include five years specialized experience in HIV/AIDS programs in developing country settings and 10 years management experience, including demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, for public health programs.
Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information (Cambodia)
The Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information is responsible for providing technical leadership and innovation in the area of HIV surveillance, special studies, size estimations and evaluations that will guide evidence-based programming and effective responsiveness to the HIV epidemic in Cambodia. Position is based at Phnom Penh. BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in surveillance, evaluation and research, HIV/AIDS with international development programs. Or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; Or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.
Fluency in English required; Khmer language ability will be an asset.
Medical Advisor for Research, Infectious Diseases
Located at Bangkok, Thailand, this position will provide leadership, scientific and technical assistance in infectious disease research in areas including, but not limited to, malaria, tuberculosis, avian influenza, sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, in FHI's Asia Pacific Region. Develops resources and relationships and supports resource development activities for increasing FHI's infectious disease portfolio and intramural research. MD or PhD/DrPH with at least 5 years relevant experience in infectious and tropical diseases (experience in malaria is mandatory) and at least 9 years experience in public health or related field with international development programs. Overseas field experience required. Strong clinical research experience in resource-constrained settings required.
Associate Director, Thailand and Regional Programs
Located at Bangkok, Thailand, this position provides management oversight for program, technical, and financial aspects of Thailand and regional program activities primarily funded under a task order (contract) provided by the USAID Regional Development Mission/Asia (RDM/A). Lead or supports resource development efforts to leverage funding and/or establish collaboration with other donors and partners. BS/BA and 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience, overseas field experience required; or MS/MA in public health or related field and 7-9 years relevant experience; or PhD/MD or equivalent degree and 5-7 years relevant experience. * This is not an expatriate position. Regional Specialist, ISDT
In direct collaboration with FHI's Global Shared Services (GSS) initiative, the FHI International Systems Development Team (ISDT) Regional Specialist (Specialist) will provide leadership, guidance and support to FHI's development programs to upgrade global business support operations. This position is part of a focused team responsible for the implementation of unified award management, accounting / finance, time management, human resources and other business management systems for FHI country and regional offices world-wide. The ISDT will perform leadership roles in the assurance of design development of global solutions, and their subsequent implementation. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field with at least 5 yrs international business experience. Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting (especially fund accounting or non-profit accounting) finance, human resources, administrative and/or business practices; general principles of project management, information systems and software applications, and change management. Ability to travel internationally for extended periods. * This position can be based at Nairobi Kenya, Pretoria South Africa, or other countries in the area. This is not an expatriate position.
