Technical Advisor, OVC (Arlington, VA)
To provide technical leadership in Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) programming for the Public Health Programs (PHP) of FHI. Main responsibilities include: Provide technical direction and ensure the highest quality of OVC activities of the Public Health Programs through technical input, capacity building and supervision of OVC staff and management of the portfolio; Coordinate and manage activities and technical assistance priorities of staff, consultants and other resource agencies in carrying out the PHP's OVC activities; Stimulate and act as a resource for the development of innovative and expanded responses in OVC through the active involvement of a Global Technical Leadership Team. Master's Degree or equivalent in Public Health or the psychosocial sciences, qualified in child development or welfare with 7-9 years experience. At least seven years experience in the field of children's issues, four of which needs to include working in developing countries. Fluency in French or Spanish is preferred.
Senior Technical Officer, HMIS (Arlington, VA)
Responsible for providing technical assistance and overseeing overall FHI Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) assessment, design and quality implementation for FHI Care and Treatment programs. Will provide technical assistance to Country Offices to foster the use of HMIS data and its standardization. MS/MA/MPH in public health field, and 5-7 years experience in HIV/AIDS or reproductive health with international development programs including at least 5 years in HMIS design, implementation and management; Or PhD, MD or similar degree and 2-4 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS or reproductive health with international development programs including at least 2 years in HMIS design, implementation and management. Overseas field experience required.
Vice President, Operations, PHP (Arlington, VA)
Provides oversight for the operational activities of PHP. Maintains overview of all PHP projects, coordinates budgeting and financial reporting and oversight for centrally-funded programs and resource development. Works closely and coordinates with the other members of the Executive Team. MD or PhD, with public health degree or equivalent experience in public health, and 11-13 years of professional experience; or Master's degree in relevant discipline; and 13-15 years of professional health experience. Experience include five years specialized experience in HIV/AIDS programs in developing country settings and 10 years management experience, including demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, for public health programs. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Project Director, CGI (Arlington, VA)
Provides leadership, coordination and management oversight for the implementation of FHI's CGI commitment of improving the lives of children and their families. Works closely and coordinates with relevant PHP staff, Global Operations, and External Relations. Master's degree in public health or related field , plus 9-11 years of professional experience, which includes 5-7 years supervisory experience . Experience in public health in developing country settings required. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information (Cambodia)
The Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information is responsible for providing technical leadership and innovation in the area of HIV surveillance, special studies, size estimations and evaluations that will guide evidence-based programming and effective responsiveness to the HIV epidemic in Cambodia. Position is based at Phnom Penh. BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in surveillance, evaluation and research, HIV/AIDS with international development programs. Or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; Or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required. Fluency in English required; Khmer language ability will be an asset.
Regional Specialist, ISDT
In direct collaboration with FHI's Global Shared Services (GSS) initiative, the FHI International Systems Development Team (ISDT) Regional Specialist (Specialist) will provide leadership, guidance and support to FHI's development programs to upgrade global business support operations. This position is part of a focused team responsible for the implementation of unified award management, accounting / finance, time management, human resources and other business management systems for FHI country and regional offices world-wide. The ISDT will perform leadership roles in the assurance of design development of global solutions, and their subsequent implementation. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field with at least 5 yrs international business experience. Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting (especially fund accounting or non-profit accounting) finance, human resources, administrative and/or business practices; general principles of project management, information systems and software applications, and change management. Senior Technical Advisor, TB/HIV (Netherlands)
Located at The Hague, Netherlands, the position is aimed to increase and strengthen TB CAP's capacity to coordinate the TB CAP TB/HIV activities as well as coordinate with other partners at the global, regional and country levels to ensure a comprehensive response. The main activities would be the following: Support and advise the Project Director and Board of Directors in carrying out any activity as required for the implementation of the TB CAP Cooperative Agreement with regards to TB-HIV; Provide technical assistance, facilitate, and monitor the development and implementation of TB-HIV coordinated activities by TB CAP partners at the global, regional and country level; Support activities that create a positive policy environment for improving TB-HIV coordinated activities; Conduct visits to TB CAP supported countries on the request of USAID Headquarters, USAID missions, TBCTA partners and National TB Control Programs, to resolve problems that hinder the effective and efficient implementation of the TB CAP program and of TB-HIV coordinated activities in particular; Represent TB CAP at major TB/HIV meetings and events; Develop, facilitate and maintain effective communication, between coalition partners, USAID Washington, (global and regional bureaus), OGAC office, USAID country missions, and other collaborating partners with respect to TB-HIV coordinated activities; Monitor and evaluate progress towards stated results, including monitoring progress in meeting TB CAP M&E Plan indicators. Senior health professional preferably Medical doctor with Master's degree in health sciences or public health. More than 7 years of relevant work experience, with preferably also experience in the African Region. Sound knowledge in relation to TB/HIV and familiarity with the scientific literature on TB/HIV/AIDS and with research on TB/HIV issues.
Senior Family Planning Advisor (Zimbabwe)
The Senior Family Planning Advisor will coordinate, manage, and provide leadership to Population-funded activities under the Zimbabwe HIV/AIDS Partnership Project. In collaboration with FHI headquarters staff, project partners, and local collaborators, s/he will provide overall vision and strategic guidance on family planning activities under the Partnership Project, and will have specific oversight of activities designed to strengthen integrated family planning/PMTCT programs in Zimbabwe. Responsibilities will include a particular emphasis on enhancing policy-level support for FP/PMTCT integration, overseeing monitoring and evaluation of FP/PMTCT activities, and ensuring coordination with other partners' Population-funded activities. Master's degree in public health or related field with minimum of ten years experience designing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating public health programs required. Three years work experience in a reproductive health or HIV/AIDS organization helpful. Experience with US-government funded programs desirable. *Local applicant only.
