Dear Friends,
Time to start checking your mailboxes!!!
The best CD ever is on its way. Faina coordinated the effort and did
a wonderful job. Very soon you will become the owner of the new Su-
percourse CD containing 1,038 lectures! It will save more lives than
a Mercedes Benz, or a Diamond ear piercing. This CD represents the
enormous effort of all of us 10,000 faculty members around the globe.
Our group just finished packing the CDs and they will be mailed to
you today. Let's thank Mita, Beatriz, Eun Ryoung, Wendy, and Kang. We
very much appreciate the help from Faina wonderful parents Yuri, and
Malvina. Special thanks to Eugene and Julia Shubnikov from Russia for
their superb technical expertise in uploading the lectures and regu-
lar updating of the Supercourse websites. The CD is beautiful; Mi-
chael Jackson, the Beatles or Madonna, could not have done it better
and our CD costs a lot less, US$ 0.00.

We wanted very much to thank all of you. The mad push to get 1,000
lectures before Halloween was crazy, it could not be done, we were
100 behind, but you did it (with a little guilt from your mother!).
But it was worth it.
We even celebrated by having our 1,000 lecture luncheon at our India
Restaurant. If you would like pictures of the celebration, let us
know. We really wish that you could all come.
Once again, we must remind you of your responsibilities. The CD IS
NOT A GIFT, even though it is free. Should you decide not to give
copies to your library, your students and your children, you are re-
quired by SUPERCOURSE LAW, that you either return the CD back to us
immediately, or you send us US$ 145,984 (we prefer the check!!). We
did our job, now it is time for you to snowball the lectures around
the world and into the hard drives of your libraries and students.
If you do not get a CD within 1 month that means that we do not have
your complete mailing address or that the CD went into vapor space.
Please, contact us if you do not get a CD.
Utilization Survey:
We ask one more thing. Eunryoung is about ready to send the survey
out to evaluate the utilization of the Supercourse. This will be her
dissertation. She has selected a sample of 500 and will shortly be
contacting them. She has been responsible for figuring how to burn
the CDs in the 4 years that she has been here. Please, please, please
complete the survey if you should receive it, so she can get her
Ph.D. degree, and the supercourse can obtain information on how the
Supercourse is or is not used. I am not sure, but I think she may
have placed a self-destruct lecture such that if you do not send the
survey back, it goes up in smoke (only kidding). She needs a high re-
sponse rate, you got the CD because of her, please help her out if
you are selected.
It is a really good feeling, we, the band of 10,000 are changing the
landscape of prevention. We in Pittsburgh thank you all!!! Who ever
said that prevention is boring, it is a buzz.
